Mechura Farms2 sued five companies for their roles in providing the Mechuras a grain sorghum seed that produced, in the Mechuras' view, a disappointing yield. The Mechuras settled before trial with two companies who provided chemicals to treat the seed, and recovered on some of their theories at trial against the remaining three companies, who produced and/or sold the seed.
