Plaintiffs, the surviving parents of Lisa Farrow, deceased, brought this wrongful death action against defendant Jennifer Potts. Lisa died as a direct result of a collision which occurred on May 24, 1992, on U.S. Highway 17 near Mountain View. The collision involved an Oldsmobile driven by Lisa and a vehicle driven by Charles Hartman, a nonparty.
