I. STATEMENT OF CASE

Following a bench trial, the defendant-appellant, JaRon Dean, was adjudged guilty of second degree murder and the use of a firearm to commit that felony. Inasmuch as he was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder, his appeal was docketed in this court. See Neb.Rev.Stat. § 24-1106 (Cum. Supp.1994).
