Kenneth Leventhal & Company ("Leventhal"), an accounting firm, was hired by the unsecured creditors of Spurgeon Holding Corporation, Inc., a debtor in bankruptcy, to perform professional services in the bankruptcy. When Leventhal finished providing the services, it applied to the bankruptcy court seeking $229,694 in compensation for fees and $9,452 in reimbursement of expenses.
