Appellant Paul Robert Heglemeier was tried by a jury and convicted of conspiracy to commit robbery, attempted robbery with use of a deadly weapon, and murder in the first degree with use of a deadly weapon. His first-degree murder conviction resulted in a life sentence with the possibility of parole, enhanced by an identical consecutive sentence for use of a deadly weapon.
