Palmer was tried and convicted by jury of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm (Count 1), in violation of 18 U.S.C. §§ 922(g), 924(e), and of possessing an unregistered sawed-off shotgun (Count 2), in violation of 26 U.S.C. § 5861.
