After the Appeals Court reversed and remanded a judgment for the plaintiff, see McSweeney v. Build Safe Corp., 35 Mass.App.Ct. 1103 (1993), we granted the plaintiff's application for further appellate review. We need only decide the issue of the propriety of the judge's leaving the courtroom during the playing of a videotaped deposition.
