Trellis Powell sued Columbus Addison and his wife, Mary Addison, for damages for injuries Powell received as a passenger in an automobile driven by Columbus and owned by Mary. Powell's complaint states he was "a passenger for hire in a vehicle operated by [Columbus], owned by [Mary] ... when [Columbus] lost control of the vehicle ..." injuring him.
