John E. Sawhill III was indicted for possession of cocaine, obstruction of an officer, and two counts of driving under the influence. As part of a negotiated plea bargain, Sawhill pleaded guilty to the cocaine possession count only, for which he was sentenced as a first offender to three years of probation. One condition of probation was that Sawhill voluntarily surrender his license to practice law for three years, subject to reconsideration by the trial...
