This appeal arises from a statutory condemnation case, in which the State of Texas condemned a strip of land owned by appellee Edwayne G. Priesmeyer. The trial court rendered judgment on the jury's verdict awarding Priesmeyer the market value of the strip as well as damages to the remainder of the property.
