BELL, Judge:

This is an action in contract for collection of an attorney's fee. Joseph S. Mendelsohn, a lawyer practicing in Charleston, South Carolina, sued Anthony M. Whitfield, a former client, alleging Whitfield owed him a balance of $2766.15 in attorney's fees for representing him in a divorce action. Whitfield answered, denying he owed Mendelsohn any attorney's fees, because Mendelsohn negligently represented him and because Mendelsohn provided legal services...
