In this fraud action William Lester, Jr., a licensed cosmetologist, sought damages from Phillips Colleges of Alabama, Inc., and Southern Junior College ("the school"), based on allegations that the school had misrepresented the nature of its cosmetology instructor program.1 A jury awarded Lester $15,000 in compensatory damages and $35,000 in punitive damages.
