Justice CAMPBELL delivered the opinion of the court:

Following a bench trial in the circuit court of Cook County, defendant Jerome Hendricks was found guilty of first degree murder, aggravated criminal sexual assault, aggravated kidnapping, kidnapping, unlawful restraint and concealment of a homicidal death. Defendant was sentenced to natural life imprisonment for murder plus concurrent sentences for the remaining offenses, the longest of which was 30 years imprisonment...
