Defendant Luis Rivera was charged by indictment No. 89 CR 13493 with the murder of decedent George Faulkner. After a jury trial defendant was convicted of murder 720 ILCS 1992, 5/9-1 (West 1992) and sentenced to 30 years in prison. This appeal followed.
