WEISBERGER, Justice.

This case comes before us upon the defendant's appeal from a judgment of conviction of the crime of kidnapping in violation of G.L. 1956 (1981 Reenactment) § 11-26-1. The defendant was charged with first-degree sexual assault, kidnapping, and several counts of assault with a dangerous weapon. The jury found him not guilty on all charges save that of kidnapping.
