By Indictment No. 4841/88, filed July 29, 1988, defendant was charged with the crimes of murder in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree. The charges stemmed from the shooting death of Charles Adamson, which occurred during an altercation in the early morning hours of July 10, 1988.
