This case raises a question of statutory construction under the Maryland gaming laws, Maryland Code (1957, 1992 Repl.Vol.), Art. 27, § 236 et seq.1 While these statutes generally prohibit gambling in this State, they provide some exemptions for charitable organizations in a number of designated counties.
