Jack W. Schuler sued his former employer, Abbott Laboratories, alleging tortious interference with his economic advantage. He claimed Abbott unfairly invoked a non-competition agreement when two of Abbott's competitors sought to hire Schuler, and that Abbott advised a third non-competing company not to hire Schuler.
