Plaintiff, Denise Shirk, formerly known as Denise Draggist, brought a medical malpractice action against defendant, Judith A. Kelsey, M.D., to recover damages for injuries sustained as a result of defendant's alleged negligence and wilful and wanton misconduct in the performance of an abortion. A jury found in favor of plaintiff on the negligence count for $300,000, but reduced the award by 25% for plaintiff...
