Following a jury trial, defendant, Robert Bennett, was convicted of first degree murder (Ill.Rev.Stat.1987, ch. 38, par. 9-1) and armed robbery (Ill.Rev.Stat.1987, ch. 38, par. 18-2). He was sentenced to concurrent sentences of 20 years' imprisonment for first degree murder and seven years' imprisonment for revocation of probation.
