Appellant was one of two men charged with the kidnapping, robbery, and murder of Pamela Basu. The co-defendant, Rodney Solomon, is being represented by the Public Defender's Office. Appellant, who was tried separately in the Circuit Court for Howard County, was offered representation by the Public Defender but, though indigent, he declined the offer.
