The defendant-appellant, Hubert Julian Pope ("Pope"), was tried in the Superior Court. He was convicted on one count of Attempted Assault in the First Degree; two counts of Assault in the Third Degree; four counts of Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony; one count of Conspiracy in the Second Degree; and one count of Possessing of a Destructive Weapon.1
