Connerly was convicted by a jury of armed robbery, two counts of aggravated assault, theft by taking, two counts of kidnapping, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Viewed in favor of the convictions, the evidence showed that Connerly and his co-defendants assaulted the victim and his son with a shotgun outside a DeKalb County convenience store.
