This is an appeal from a summary judgment rendered in favor of defendants in an action under the Jones Act and general maritime law.

It is undisputed that Alfred L. Greaud, III injured his back in 1986, while employed by Carline Geismar Fleet, Inc. (Carline). His condition was diagnosed as focal disc herniation at the L5-S1 level.
