The facts pertinent to this appeal are as follows: On or about 20 July 1991, Detective K.E. Powers of the Winston-Salem police Department, along with Sergeant Homer Craig, received information from an informant that marijuana was being grown in the basement of a residence located at 2016 Colonial Place, Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
