Sandra D. appeals from a protective placement order and an order denying her petition for a writ of habeas corpus. While she raises several issues, we consider one to be dispositive: Did the trial court lack competency1 to proceed with the final hearing on the petition for protective placement after expiration of the thirty-day limitation in sec. 55.06(11)(c), Stats. Because we conclude that it did, we reverse.
