Defendant, Anthony Goodar, was convicted of aggravated battery (Ill.Rev.Stat. 1985, ch. 38, par. 12-4(b)(8)), following a jury trial in the circuit court of Cook County. Defendant was sentenced to a 3-year term in the Illinois Department of Corrections, and subsequently entered an impact incarceration program.
