The defendant police officers appeal from the trial court's judgment, rendered after a jury trial, in favor of the plaintiff, as a result of the officers' violation of 42 U.S.C. § 1983. The officers claim that the trial court improperly (1) denied their motion for a directed verdict and their motion to set aside the judgment, (2) instructed the jury to continue its deliberations without the benefit of rehearing the entire testimony of two witnesses...
