By Indictment No. 6172/90, filed June 6, 1990, defendant was charged with grand larceny in the fourth degree. The charges stemmed from a May 16, 1990 incident in which defendant was alleged to have diverted the attention of a taxi cab driver who had stopped for a red light, while his co-defendant, Charles Massey, snatched $70 from the driver's breast pocket.
