On February 1, 1991, defendant John Miller was driving on Interstate 55 (hereinafter I-55) in McLean County, Illinois. He was stopped by Illinois State trooper Jeff Gaither for an alleged loud muffler. After an alleged consensual search of defendant's vehicle, 44 pounds of cannabis was confiscated and defendant was charged by indictment with cannabis trafficking and unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver...
