The issues presented by this appeal arise from an action for absolute divorce and equitable distribution initiated by Frances Albritton ("plaintiff") against her husband, Harry R. Albritton ("defendant"). Plaintiff and defendant were married 27 August 1949 and lived together for almost forty years until the date of their separation on 14 June 1988. The parties were granted an absolute divorce by the trial court on 28 July 1989, leaving only the issue...
