On August 29, 1984, the plaintiff, John Pullicino, was unloading a shipment of Perdue chicken products as part of his duties as a boxman at Acme Markets. The handle area of a cardboard box of chickens he was unloading broke, and Pullicino severely injured his right hand, arm and fingers.
