On July 5, 1991, Alvin L. Higgins, Sr., filed a bankruptcy petition under Chapter 7 of the Bankruptcy Code. In his petition, he listed Closeout Distributors as a creditor, noting that Closeout had obtained a judgment against him on April 25, 1991. He also listed his residence as an asset, and stated that it was encumbered by a first mortgage as well as Closeout's judgment lien. He claimed various exemptions...
