This is a direct appeal by the defendant, Lena Ferguson, from her jury convictions of one count of aggravated arson and one count of felony murder. She was sentenced to a term of 15 years to life for aggravated arson to run concurrently with a term of life imprisonment for felony murder.

On January 13, 1991, David Summers died from smoke and heat inhalation...
