On December 4, 1987, Union Oil Company of California ("Unocal") sponsored its annual Christmas party for its Alaskan employees, their spouses and/or friends. The party was held at the Central Peninsula Sports Center ("Sports Center") in Soldotna, Alaska. Unocal contracted with Kenai Merit Inn to cater the event. Kenai Merit Inn agreed to provide all services associated with the party, including set-up and clean-up, cocktail service, hors d'oeuvres...
