On July 11, 1980, a jury convicted petitioner Darrel Wayne Hill ("Hill") of capital felony murder, kidnapping and aggravated robbery in connection with the death of Donald Lee Teague. Hill was sentenced to death in connection with the capital felony murder and 50 years each on the other felonies.
