Following a jury trial in the circuit court of Kane County, defendant, John Bush, was convicted of home invasion (Ill.Rev. Stat.1989, ch. 38, par. 12—11) and aggravated battery (Ill.Rev.Stat. 1989, ch. 38, par. 12—4(b)(1)). The trial court sentenced defendant to six years' imprisonment on the home invasion conviction and two years' imprisonment on the aggravated battery conviction, with the sentences...
