Following an October 25, 1991, hearing on the State's emergency petition for involuntary admission pursuant to the Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Code (Mental Health Code or Code) (405 ILCS 5/3-600 et seq. (West 1992)), the circuit court entered an order finding respondent, Rita Guzik, to be a person subject to involuntary admission. The petition had alleged that she was in need of immediate hospitalization...
