Defendant, James Henry Gantt, was charged by bill of information with two counts of attempted second degree murder in violation of LSA-R.S. 14.27 and 14:30.1. Gantt was tried by jury who returned responsive verdicts of one count of aggravated battery and one count of attempted manslaughter.
