I. Introduction

This matter comes before the court on defendants' motion for summary judgment, Docket # 43. This civil rights case was commenced with the filing of a complaint on May 15, 1991. An amended complaint was filed on the 29th of July, 1991. The named defendants are Kent State University ("KSU"), a state university, and Chester Williams and Ann Metham, two employees of the University.
