The People of the State of Illinois appeal from the circuit court's order suppressing certain inculpatory statements made by the defendant, Carolyn Hawthorn (Hawthorn). After an evidentiary hearing, the circuit court found that Hawthorn had been subject to a custodial interrogation without the requisite Miranda warnings.
