Plaintiff Seymour Kessler, a former podiatrist, filed a complaint in the circuit court wherein he alleged that he was defamed by false statements made by defendant Pamela Zekman, an investigative reporter for WBBM-TV, the wholly-owned Chicago affiliate of defendant CBS, Inc., and by defendants Drs.
