Following a jury trial, defendant, Henry Kaczmarek, was convicted of murder (Ill. Rev.Stat.1987, ch. 38, par. 9-1), residential burglary (Ill.Rev.Stat.1987, ch. 38, par. 19-3), home invasion (Ill.Rev.Stat.1987, ch. 38, par. 12-11), and armed robbery (Ill.Rev.
