A jury convicted the defendant, David Hendrix, of first degree murder, aggravated criminal sexual assault and residential burglary. He was sentenced to an extended term of imprisonment of 80 years for murder, 30 years for aggravated criminal sexual assault and 15 years for residential burglary; the sentences were to run concurrently.
