Louisiana-Nevada Transit Company (LNT) brought suit against Marathon Oil Company (Marathon) seeking an injunction to prevent Marathon from ceasing sales under a natural gas purchase contract. Marathon counterclaimed for damages and a declaratory judgment that the contract had been terminated.
