This appeal arises out of a medical malpractice suit filed on May 23, 1990, by the Plaintiff-Appellant, Catherine Pitre, individually and on behalf of her minor child, Keith Pitre. Mrs. Pitre sued Dr. Vithanas Tangpricha and his insurer, United Medical Center (hereinafter "UMC"), and its insurer and various fictitious defendants.
