The defendant appeals from the judgment following his conviction by a jury of assault in the third degree in violation of General Statutes § 53a-61 (a) (1). His sole claim is that, contrary to the mandate of General Statutes § 54-84 (b), the trial court failed to instruct the jury that no adverse inference could be drawn against him because of his failure to testify at trial.
