Following a jury trial in the circuit court of Adams County, defendant was convicted of one count of aggravated criminal sexual assault (Ill.Rev.Stat.1991, ch. 38, par. 12-14(b)(1)) and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse (Ill.
