Following a bench trial in the circuit court of Cook County, defendant was convicted of residential burglary (Ill.Rev.Stat. 1989, ch. 38, par. 19-3) then sentenced as a class X offender (Ill.Rev.Stat.1989, ch. 38, par. 1005-5-3(c)(8)) to a term of nine years imprisonment.
