Fred Brown brought this age discrimination action against Stites Concrete, Inc. (Stites) pursuant to the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), 29 U.S.C. §§ 621-634. The jury found in favor of Brown and awarded $38,500 in compensatory damages. Based upon the jury's finding of willfulness, the district court1 doubled the award pursuant to 29 U.S.C. § 626(b).
